The story of over a decade of Marketing and Communications
From promoting an online family magazine in 2012 to marketing myself as an author and speaker in 2022 to increasing brand recognition for businesses and nonprofits today, please find below some of my marketing and communications highlights.
Mayor Heather Spearman
As Communications Director, I worked in collaboration with the entire campaign team on developing Heather Spearman‘s content strategy for her website, social media, and advertising for both her successful campaign as Airdrie, Alberta City Councillor in 2021 and her successful campaign for Mayor of Airdrie in 2025. I wrote speeches, website copy, and a sponsored article. I maintained the WordPress website and served as the graphic designer for all the creative including social media posts, campaign signs, and newspaper and online advertising.
Here’s an example of a social media post I wrote in her voice, along with a sponsored article that maintained Heather’s brand identity and messaging.

The Tammy Plunkett Brand
I have marketed myself as an author and speaker with a deliberate content strategy executed over more than fifteen years with social media management, website SEO, online ads, traditional media and more.
You can read a writing sample here or click on my many media appearance links here.
The Alberta First Nations
Information Governance Centre
As communications coordinator, I launched a newsletter and LinkedIn page, collaborated in the revamping of the website, and expanded the nonprofit’s Facebook reach primarily to maintain a consistent and trustworthy brand identity and share our Health Research findings.
Here are examples of recent a Facebook post, a LinkedIn post, a blog, an educational video, and a year-end summary with our marketing analytics.

Other experiences over the years
The Calgary Military Family Resource Centre has had its website absorbed by its parent company, but some of my branding work can still be seen on its Facebook page here.
I volunteered for five years with Airdrie Pride Society and was part of the team that launched the inaugural Pride Festival and Queer Prom in Airdrie. I maintained our website and social media platforms and spearheaded the marketing campaigns to promote workshops, webinars, and our monthly events. You can find examples of my work here and here.
As an entrepreneur, I managed the Big Sky Author Services marketing for eight years to attract clients and engage our audience. I created targeted email campaigns and digital ads to drive webinar and writing retreat registrations.
In 2012, I was the executive editor and social media manager for an online magazine called The Bridge Post, where I organically attracted 20,000 followers. The Facebook page has since been renamed, but you can find some of my earliest creatives here and here. You will note this is long before we had Canva to use as a photo editing tool.
